On Monday, some of the Media Persons were beaten up by the lawyers outside the Patiala House Court. And showing his anger on this shameful attack, NDTV anchor Ravish Kumar has said “It is a black day for Democracy and strict action should be taken against this shameful Act.” The Journalists were gathered at the Press Club of India and marched to the Supreme Court in a show of solidarity.
In An Interview given to NewsLaundry.com, Ravish Kumar said, “It is a dangerous situation for Democracy. If the Journalists will be beaten up like this, they will be threatened, then they will fear to show you anything. And the media person has to be fearless.”
Without taking a name, but attacking indirectly on Arnab Goswami, Ravish Kumar further says, “There are some anchors who pick up the sensational news and do debates.” Ravish appealed the people to not watch these type of debates which misleads people.
Though not taking a name of Arnab, but it was clear from his tone that he is referring to Arnab, he said: “Wearing a suit and getting a prime time show doesn’t mean that you can say whatever you want.” He also questioned him “When was the last time you visited the rural places and talked with the poor peoples who are dying of hunger”.
